2026/2027 Admission Eligibility Criteria

Admission into Al-Azhar School, Kano is based on strict age compliance, successful screening or entrance assessment, document verification, payment confirmation, and availability of space.

Pre-Nursery

• Applicants must meet the school’s approved age requirement.
• Every Pre-Nursery applicant must undergo a physical screening at the Nursery Section before an online application can be considered.
• The child must be toilet-trained and able to communicate orally.
• Parents should visit the Nursery Section to complete the screening process before proceeding with the application.

Nursery

• Applicants must be at least 3 years old.
• The child must be toilet-trained.
• The child must be able to communicate orally.
• Admission is subject to physical screening and availability of space.

Basic 1

Applicants must:

• Be between 6 and 7 years old.
• Pass the written entrance assessment
• Present evidence of completion of Nursery School.
• Provide a letter of attestation of good conduct signed by a parent or guardian.

Transfer Applicants

• Transfer applications are considered only where spaces are available.
• Transfer applicants must sit for the relevant entrance examination.
• A transfer certificate signed by the previous school is compulsory.
• Transfer admission is not available into SS2 and SS3.

Classes Without Admission Slots

For the 2026/2027 Academic Session, applications will NOT be accepted for:

• Basic 4 (Primary 4)
• All Junior & Senior Secondary Classes

Required Documents for Successful Applicants

Successful applicants will be required to submit:

• Birth Certificate
• Most recent school report card
• Medical report from a Government Hospital
• Parent or guardian identification
• Signed acceptance letter
• Evidence of payment of the non-refundable acceptance fee
• Transfer Certificate, where applicable

Online Application and Payment

• All applications must be completed through the School’s Online Admission Portal.
• The application fee is payable through the approved online payment channel.
• Parents may use any available online payment option, including card payment, bank transfer, USSD, and other supported channels.
• Submission of an application does not guarantee admission; final admission remains subject to eligibility, assessment outcome, document verification, payment confirmation, and available space.
